Privacy Policy
Daylight Savings is a budgeting app for iPhone. Your financial information stays on your phone. We don’t have a server that stores it, and we can’t see it. This policy explains that, and the few things that do leave your phone.
Who we are
Daylight Savings is made by Kristopher Boddie. Questions about this policy go to support@daylightsavings.app.
What stays on your phone
Everything you enter: your name, balance, safety floor, bills and income, logged spending, planned purchases, your jar, your streak and your reminder times. It’s saved in the app’s storage on your iPhone and isn’t sent to us or anyone else. Daylight Savings doesn’t connect to your bank.
If you use iCloud Backup, your iPhone may include the app’s data in its backup. That’s handled by Apple under its privacy policy.
Backups you save
When you save a backup, the app creates a file and hands it to the place you choose, like Files, iCloud Drive, Google Drive or email. From there it’s handled by that service. The file isn’t encrypted and contains your budget, so keep it somewhere private.
Reminders
Morning and evening reminders are scheduled on your phone. No server is involved in sending them.
Purchases
If you buy Daylight Plus, Apple handles the payment. We never see your name, Apple ID or payment details.
To check whether you have Plus and turn it on, the app uses RevenueCat, a subscription service. RevenueCat receives:
- a random ID created for your copy of the app, which isn’t linked to your name or Apple ID
- your Apple purchase records for this app: what you bought, when, the price, renewals and refunds
- basic technical details: your iOS version, the app’s version, and your country and language
We use this to give you Plus and to see overall numbers, like how many people subscribe. RevenueCat doesn’t receive anything you enter in the app.
What we don’t do
- No ads, analytics or tracking.
- No account to sign up for.
- We don’t sell or share your information.
This website
daylightsavings.app has no cookies, analytics or trackers. Like any website, our hosting provider may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses, for a short time to keep the site running and secure.
Deleting your information
In the app, You → Start over erases everything you’ve entered. Deleting the app does the same. Backup files you saved are yours to delete.
To delete the purchase records RevenueCat holds, email us the order ID from your Apple receipt (also at reportaproblem.apple.com). Apple keeps its own records of your purchases under its privacy policy.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see, correct or delete information about you. What you enter in the app is already in your hands. For anything else, email us and we’ll help.
Children
Daylight Savings isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, we’ll update it here and change the date at the top. If we ever add a feature that sends your information off your phone, like bank sync, it will be optional, and we’ll update this policy before it ships.
